Why do we need ritual?

Human beings have created rituals to mark milestones and honour transitions since the dawn of time.

From the everyday to the once in a lifetime, no matter what our values and beliefs, honouring the transitions of life, love and death with a ritual, a moment that offers us a container, is an impulse as ancient as humankind itself.

We are, and have always been, creatures of ritual, but in these times of unprecedented uncertainty, where the secular and the spiritual coexist alongside a plethora of faiths, we can create rituals that are at once meaningful and relevant, unique and yet universal.

What kind of ritual might you create in the workshop?

It’s up to you.

A ritual could be personal or professional, playful or purposeful.

It could be about letting go of the old or welcoming the new, completing a chapter or birthing a new idea.

It could be about how you start your day or end the year, or it might honour a great love or loss or the anniversary of a death.

And it could be about the big picture, connecting you to the light on the horizon that pulls you forward, recalibrating your inner compass to your outer purpose.

And - once you have the tools, you can design rituals of all kinds forever more.
